Wouldn't it be nice to be able to impress your grandkids or friends with "knowledge" of the night sky and its inhabitants?

If the answer is yes, come join the Lifelong Learning Institute as we partner with the Hot Springs Village Stargazers Club to put on an "Intro to Astronomy” class. The program will be a series of two classroom sessions followed by a field "star party" at the club's stargazing location here in the village. The classes will cover basic astronomy, night sky identification of objects (stars, planets, constellations), and how to setup and operate various kinds of telescopes. The field star party will allow participants to use what they have learned to view the night sky. The star party is being scheduled to coincide with the New Moon cycle, which will allow the optimum viewing of the night sky.
